Hi,
We showered and got warm after the Waitomo Caves before heading right up to the north of the North Island. We got totally lost and there were far too many turns in the road but luckily for us it was night time and we didn't bother too many cars. Eventually, we found the right road to our campsite... it was a dirt track which went on for miles! But we did get to see New Zealand's wild horses which only come out a night! We also nearly got stuck in the sand and just decided to camp at a different site that we found. When we woke up in the morning we were greeted by some of the craziest people I have ever met, including an ancient Maori man whom everyone calls Uncle. Uncle informed us of a huge Snapper fishing competition happening along the Ninety Mile Beach, the winner receives $30,000 prize money at the end of the week and the daily winners get $2,000! Crazy!
Lots of Love,
Clementine x
