So today we picked up the camper van! We were originally booked in to have a different van but the mechanic decided that a smaller, lighter van that had just come back into the garage would be more suitable for two, slight girls. Our camper van, provided by Escape campers, was covered in spray paint images of tropical birds including parrots and parakeets and thus, after much debate we names our camper Prince Percy - or just Percy for short! That first day we drove from Christchurch all the way down to Te Anau which was quite a journey! Gee had never driven an automatic before so we had a quick practice on a supermarket car park and then set off! On the way we stopped to visit the start of many beautiful lakes, one of which was Lake Tekapo.
